A website without WordPress. Fast, secure, easy to look after.

WordPress is everywhere, but it is not the only way to build a website, and rarely the best one for a small business. Here is what a CMS actually is, why we build without WordPress, and how you still change your own pages whenever you like.

What a CMS actually is

A CMS, a content management system, is the tool you use to change the text and images on your website without touching any code. You log in, type, save. WordPress is the best-known CMS, but “CMS” is a category, not a single product. There are many ways to build and look after a website. WordPress is only one of them, and rarely the simplest for a small business.

How WordPress works

WordPress is a program that runs on a server. Your content sits in a database, and on every visit WordPress assembles the page again from scratch. Extra features come from plugins, small add-ons made by third parties. That makes WordPress powerful and flexible.

It also brings upkeep: the program, the theme and every plugin need regular updates, or security holes appear. WordPress is the most frequently attacked system on the web, not because it is bad, but because it is so widespread and its many plugins offer so much to attack.

Our way: a finished page plus our own editing system

We build your website differently. Instead of rebuilding it on every visit, we serve finished pages, prepared in advance and spread across Cloudflare’s network. That is why they load instantly.

To make changes, you get our own editing system: clear fields with examples, you change a line of text or an image, save, done. No maze of menus, no plugins, nothing you do not need. We build the interface and the connection for your site specifically.

WordPress and our model side by side

  • Speed. WordPress reassembles each page on every request; that costs time and often needs its own caching plugins. With us the pages are ready and waiting, and load straight away.
  • Security. WordPress lives on plugins, and every add-on is a possible hole. On our pages there is nothing public to attack: no plugins, no openly reachable database, just finished files.
  • Upkeep. With WordPress the program, theme and plugins need constant updates. With us that falls away, because there are no plugins to age. We handle the upkeep on request.
  • Cost. With WordPress, hosting, paid plugins and maintenance often add up. Our model runs on infrastructure that costs nothing extra under normal use; we handle the hosting through Cloudflare.
  • Google. Ranking rewards speed and a clean build. Fast, lean pages have an easier time here.
  • Ease of use. Instead of countless settings you can get wrong, you see clear fields with examples. A change is in within minutes.

“But can I still change things myself?”

Yes, that is the whole point. You look after text, images, prices and dates yourself, in clear fields with examples beside them. You cannot break anything.

Or you drop us a line. With care and maintenance from €49 a month we change it for you, plus backups, checks and one contact who knows your site, cancellable monthly with no minimum term.

When WordPress does make sense

Honestly, WordPress has its place. For very large portals, editorial teams with many authors, or when you depend on a particular system that only exists there, it can be the right choice. For online shops we also set up Shopify or WooCommerce on request.

For most businesses, though, whether a trade, a restaurant, a practice or a service, a fast, secure site with its own editing system is the simpler and cheaper answer.

In short

You do not need WordPress to have a good website. You need a site that loads fast, stays secure and is easy to look after. That is exactly what we build: a finished, fast website with its own simple editing system. What fits your business, we work out together in a free first call.

    Website without a cookie banner

A cookie banner is annoying and costs you those first seconds with a visitor. Most websites do not need one at all. Here is what works without a banner, where the line is – and how to check your own site in two minutes.
